Internationally Awarded - Upper House by Aria
Aria is proud to announce Upper House by Aria has been awarded two Awards of Excellence on the global stage with the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat. This international accolade stands strong beside our plan to deliver world class, iconic and sustainable buildings that we are proud to walk our families past, for generations.
Presenting itself as the first designed and as built five start green star building in Queensland, Upper House is home to over 3,544 trees and plants. Awarded in two categories, Upper House took home the Award of Excellence for the Best Tall Building (Global) between 100-199m. Upper House also won the Award of Excellence for the Space Within, a testament to the amenity on offer to the residents.
Upper House has 188 apartments spread across 32 floors. Upper House’s curvaceous facade finds itself located on Hope Street in South Brisbane, with jaw dropping views to the city and surrounds. Architect Koichi Takada took inspiration from the local Morton Bay Fig Tree which is best known for its imposing buttress roots. Upper House features dancing timber buttresses, which work their way up towards the pinnacle of all rooftops; Australia’s first double height rooftop club crowned with the first timber pergola in Australia.
Aria's Managing Director Tim Forrester and Development Manager Michael Hurley were joined by architect Koichi Takada in London for the prestigious awards presentation.
Tim Forrester commented that it was an honour to see the project recognised at a global scale.
"The international recognition shows our commitment to creating iconic, world class, sustainable buildings that we are proud to walk our families past for generations. Whilst attending these awards, it was great to see how we rival projects from all over the world."
Development Manager Michael Hurley mentioned that despite the challenges with the pergola, all the hard work and dedication the team put in is showing through the continuous award recognition.
"I am incredibly proud of the team; the global recognition is a testament to the list of Queensland and Australia firsts that we designed and built in Upper House."
Upper House's double height rooftop club features a wellness centre with hot and cold magnesium plunges, saunas, steam room, gym, yoga room, barbeque spaces, elevated birds nest seating, private dining, gold class cinema, work from home library, boardroom and wine club. The Upper House Residences are truly the pinnacle of South East Queensland living.
Upper House is now home to over 300 residents, with over 60% owner occupiers. Since completion in 2023, owners in the project have seen growth up as much as 108%.
